Put your culinary skills to the test with a plant-based scholarship competition! Owner of Desmond’s Island Soul Grill and 2015 CIV Grad, Shavonne Alexander is awarding a total of $1,000 to three finalists!
Write a paragraph, 400 word max, on how you express your identity through food. Recipe for your plant-based entree and side dish – if you are a finalist this will be your competition menu. Glenn and Len are happy to help you review and edit your paragraphs! Please take advantage of this resource prior to submission
Email both to Jessica Desmond, jdesmond@chefva.com by March 20, 2020. Finalists chosen by Ms. Alexander will be notified on March 30th. Competition to take place on April 15th before a panel of CIV Alumni Judges.
1st Place – $600 scholarship
2nd Place – $300 scholarship
3rd Place – $100 scholarship
