Put your culinary skills to the test with a plant-based scholarship competition! Owner of Desmond’s Island Soul Grill and 2015 CIV Grad, Shavonne Alexander is awarding a total of $1,000 to three finalists!
Write a paragraph, 400 word max, on how you express your identity through food. Recipe for your plant-based entree and side dish – if you are a finalist this will be your competition menu. Email both to Jessica Desmond, jdesmond@chefva.com by March 20, 2020. Finalists chosen by Ms. Alexander will be notified on March 30th. Competition to take place on April 15th before a panel of CIV Alumni Judges.
1st Place – $600 scholarship
2nd Place – $300 scholarship
3rd Place – $100 scholarship
